How To Prepare For A Facelift One of the first things that you must do in order to prepare for a facelift is to get evaluated. An evaluation will let you know whether or not you are a good candidate for this cosmetic surgery procedure. The surgeon will consult with you and go over your medical history. Taking these up to the time of the facelift can prove to be risky. They can increase the risk of bleeding while the surgeon is performing the procedure. The surgeon needs to know if you are taking any medicines on a regular basis. If you do have some, consult with your regular physician before you stop taking them. If you are a smoker, you will have to stop before you have the facelift. You should not smoke for at least a month before and a month after the surgical procedure. When you smoke, the flow or oxygen and blood to your face is reduced. If you don't stop, your wounds can turn red and black. You could end up having another surgery to have a skin graft.

Any time that you try to compromise from making adjustments prior to a surgical procedure such as this one, you are asking for trouble.
