What Is Adult Body Acne?
This type of acne is acne that is found anywhere on the body other than your face. It most commonly occurs on your back, your chest, your upper arms, and your butt, but it can occur other places on your body as well. Back acne is also sometimes referred to as 'bacne.'
How Many People Have Acne on Their Body?
This type of acne affects 75% of people who have facial acne. And can be as painful and unsightly as acne on your face. Only about 5% of people with acne on their body seek treatment for it.
But, over 90% of people who have this type of acne say that it makes them so uncomfortable that they don't want to show their skin in public. That is a shame, because body acne is not difficult to treat.
What Are The Best Body Acne Treatments?
The best types of treatments, are products that are formulated specifically for acne on your body. It is important to not use these products on your face, because your body skin is thicker and the ingredients in acne treatments that are designed for the skin on your body are stronger and in higher concentrations than face acne treatments.
For mild to moderate chest, back, or butt acne a treatment that contains Salicylic Acid and Citric Acid can work wonders. These two ingredients work to open pores and keep the bacteria from lodging in them and causing the infections that cause body acne.
It is best if body acne treatments come in a body wash format. That way you can use them in the shower and simply rinse them off.
