One of the most important components in the beauty arsenal of any woman is a concealer. No matter how made up your face is, if your blemishes and dark circles around the eyes are visible, you will still look haggard, stressed and old. Thus, if you want to look healthier, younger, and more vibrant than you really are, you should never go out of your house without applying this cosmetic product.
The problem that the average woman is facing nowadays is actually not a lack of this application; if you will look into the make up kit of many, you will be surprised to see at least two types or shades of concealers. Actually, the problem is the lack of knowledge on how to use this product properly and what type is appropriate for their skin color.
What Are Concealers?
Everybody wants to have soft and perfect skin. However, in reality, all of us have some blemishes and skin problems that need to be concealed or disguised. A concealer actually helps in hiding and masking skin imperfections easily and effectively. This product, which is basically a more concentrated kind of foundation, is rich in pigmentation content in order to aid in covering up almost all areas of the skin. Thus, if you have scars, freckles, pimples, red veins, discoloration and dark circles, you are in dire need of a concealer for some cover up.
Types Of Concealers
Although all concealers have one purpose, that is to hide whatever you want to hide, some are created to fit particular skin types, colors or problems.
Solid
If your main problem is hiding pockmarks or scars caused by chicken pox or pimples, the best one for you is a solid concealer. A solid concealer is thick; it will help fill up indentations caused by scars, giving you greater coverage. This usually comes in wand or stick type, it is best for spot or direct application. If you have acne and pimple problems, you can always rely on the stick type that has anti-acne ingredients; so you are not only covering up the problem, but also doing something to make it disappear completely.
Liquid
If you want all around coverage, then the liquid type is for you. Not only is this concealer light and easy to apply, it also helps make red veins on the cheeks and nose, and dark circles around the eyes appear lighter. This is also ideal for people with dry skin or aging skin.
Tips On Choosing The Right Color
The rule of thumb is to choose a concealer that is just a shade lighter than your skin tone. If you chose the lightest shade and you have a warm skin, you will highlight your skin imperfections.
Since there are also many colors to choose from, the safest choice should be beige or brown shades for overall coverage. However, if you only have one specific problem, it might be best to know what color will best hide your skin flaw.
For people with cool skin, you can use peach or apricot colors to make your skin tone brighter during the day. For a more dramatic effect in the evening, you can use a shade of silver. For people with warm skin tones, yellow should be ideal, especially for those suffering from bluish pigmentation. For redness on the skin, the color green is just right for you. Meanwhile, shades of lavender and rose will help people with pale or yellow skin tones to have brighter and livelier complexion.
Concealers To Veil Dark Circles
Due to stress or frequent sleep deprivation, many women are suffering from raccoon eyes, which is the hardest type of skin problem to conceal. A neutral shade is ideal for balancing and covering the brownish or purplish under eye pigmentation. It is also important to note that you need to cover the entire dark circle on each of your eyes to give your look an instant lift.
Bluish and purplish discolorations around the eyes can be stubborn. Even makeup artists have a hard time finding the right shade to help minimize eye discolorations. Thus, it would be wise if you also apply an eye cream or gel that will help diminish these unsightly spots. One product that is effective not only in reducing bags and circles, but also in minimizing the appearance of wrinkles around the eyes is Eyevive. Visit http://www.eyevive.com for more details.
