How do you get tinted moisturizer to stay in place?
A while ago I got tired of wearing cakey foundation and switched to tinted moisturizer. It looks great when I'm at home but once I look in the car mirror it is horrible and I want to scream. It looks orange and cakey and blotchy. I have the lightest shade of Covergirl tinted moisturizer but it is still way orange because I'm SO pale. I also use loose powder. How else can I make it stay on?
The orangeness isn't necessarily because you're so pale - I'm rather pale as well, and I've found that any of Covergirl's foundation products - whether it's summer or winter - are going to look orange in natural light, no matter what. I'd first suggest switching to a different brand.
After that, if you're still having problems with it looking cakey and blotchy once you've found something that doesn't make you look orangey, I'd suggest trying a foundation primer under your tinted moisturizer, like the one made by Smashbox. Primers do wonders for making your makeup stay put all day long.

Edit: Also, you may just want to try powder foundation, since you said your reason for switching was the cakeyness. I recently started using Everyday Minerals foundation, and it's amazing compared to the liquids I've used all my life. You can get any amount of coverage you like, depending upon how you apply it, and it still feels like you're wearing nothing.
