Will false eyelashes weaken your real ones?

I use individual false eyelashes on a daily basis because I think they really brighten up my eyes. However I have heard this is not such a good idea because the glue can weaken your eyelashes. I've had a traumatic incident where I've lost my real lashes when I accidentally tugged at my falsies and a bunch of my real ones ripped out with them. How can I make sure my false lashes won't continue to damage my real ones? How do I care for them ?Any advice please?

Stop using individuals. Regular ones work fine and the glue wont be in your lashes it will be above them...you should use less glue too! And be gentle when you remove them!

The lashes are so natural and usuallly black, they darken your own lash line. They curl your own lashes and thicken the width of each lash they are glued to. The need for mascara and an eyelash curler is eliminated! Eyelash extensions are the new natural eye. Everyone in Hollywood is talking about these lashes and everyone wants them. The extensions bond around your own lash, actually protecting them from wear and tear, allowing your lash to continue to grow. As you own lashes grow, so will the extensions. Our lashes have 100 day life cycle. As one falls out, another grows in its place.

The process involves bonding lashes, synthetic or human hair, to your own with a special adhesive. Depending on the type of application, the lashes stay on for the life of your natural lash. Like the hair on your scalp, eyelashes all grow and shed at different stages. In general, a human lash will shed approximately every two months. Because of this, some lashes will shed sooner than others, which is why refill appointments are necessary to replace the lashes that have fallen out.

To maintain the look, you need a touch up every two to three weeks to replace any eyelashes that have fallen out. This happen to a eyelash salon owner who is an professional at putting on and maintaining eyelash extensions.

On the other hand due to eyelash extensions being somewhat of a new treatment there will be salons all over the place without someone able to apply extensions. There will also be such places advertising looking for the services of someone with your credentials, these can be found all over the Internet after doing a relevant search.

The eyelash extension procedure is painless and will not harm your existing natural lashes or your eyelids. The lash extensions are never applied directly to your eyelids. The procedure takes up to two hours to do and entails the placement of 60 to 80 lashes per upper eyelid. Lower eyelid lashes are not done. When properly applied and maintained, eyelash extensions can last indefinitely with touchups every 2 to 4 weeks. A natural lash typically falls out every 60 to 90 days and is replaced with the growth of a new eyelash.

The hair follicles which have been transplanted grow like normal hair on the eyelids also. This means that the eyelashes need to be trimmed and cut regularly and should be curled. The entire procedure takes about a couple of hours and around 30 new eyelashes are grafted per eye. The entire surgery is very expensive but it is a one-time affair, so, many prefer it to constantly struggling with false eyelashes or temporary eyelash extensions.

You are probably someone who uses allot of mascara and also spends allot of money on the stuff, if you have eyelash extensions in you don't need to wear ANY mascara! Secondly, you should buy some eye make up remover from your eyelash technician, they will have some and for the sake for a few more pounds to the bill you should buy it. If you have paid so much for fake eyelashes you don't want them to fall out after a week because the make up remover you are using is causing them to fall out.

Makeup for a hot pink glittery dress?

ok, so i have a party on saturday, and im going to be wearing a hot pink dress, all glittery. its halter top, and exposes half my back. reaches right below my knees in uneven ends. i dont want anything too bright, or too pink. something with maybe a dark brown....silver....creme colored.
i have very pale skin, brownish/golden hair, brown eyes. and i blush a lot naturally.
so...would dark colors go good?
would red lipstick be too much?
oh, and im 16
Oh, and how should i put the eyeliner? liquid? im not a makeup person, i love putting it on, but i dont use it. eyeliner on the bottom eyelid doenst look that good on me...only the top lid.

Okay Lemme answer the last question first..NO, NO, NO red lipstick!!!
lol, and its not because ur 16 or anything, because Im 16 and wear red lipstick at times:):)
but because u have on pink, red will wash and diminish the whole look ya know?

The Look you should go for::I have brown eyes as well
and pink, and brown together..::FLAWLESS

So what you should do..
is use a base..maybe a foundation or concealer ::your choice::
all over your eye lids, juss so your shadow can last and stay all nite ::)

Second:: U can use a q-tip for this if u don't have any makeup-brushes and it works juss as well..
you take the brush or q-tip and
apply a nice dark brown in your crease.. (how to find your crease..you hold your head back and find the narrow, or"hard bone", socket on top of your eye-lid) then you put the brown there and just sweep it back and forth until u feel its blended well..(if you want the brown to be soft::blending for a while will give u that::if you want the brown to be a lil bit harder..you know because its a party you only will blend for a lil while)

Third:: You wanna take a soft pink (NOT a pale, pink, bright pink,) but a normal pink ya know..
and put that on your eye lid..(basically on the lid that u passed, before u did the brown color)
and spread it across ur lid (pat it on the lid, so it can be noticed, but soft) OH YES! i forgot, line the eyes with a soft khol black liner, and maybe 2-3 coats of mascara! and ur set

Lastly::Optional::Apply a shimmery white eyeshadow underneath your eyebrow

and your donneee hun!

Well Ur lips:::NO RED as i said lol, try a clear lip, (clear lip gloss) or a soft pink lip gloss/lipstick.

and u blush natrually so thats good!

for a type of skin glow, you can use a powder that matches your skin, and or foundation, or tinted moisturizer..a little bronzer, and IF IF IF you WANT to add glitter, apply it on ur cheeks, (juss a little) for a nice glow as well..

whats the difference between the bare minerals eyes cheeks lips starter kit and just the eyes starter kit?

besides the obvious?

i know that obviously one is for eyes cheeks and lips and one is for just eyes. but what comes with each set? what's the price difference?

im not sure which one to get...im thinking just the eyes one because i dont really care about my cheeks and lips...but im just trying to do some research first to find out which would be the better deal.

the starter kit come with 2 foundation in 2 different shades, the mineral veil which sets your foundation, a warmth which is a face bronzer or all over fcae color, a revver upper its a cream infused with vitamins u put this on before foundation. comes with 1 concealer brush, one all over face brush , and a foundation brush. the eye starter kid im not too sue but i think its 4 shadows and 3 shadow brushes.

Do you often find yourself having endless thoughts regarding if you were "just" a bit different when it comes to this or that, which can widely include everything from your height to your weight. Today, we find young people who religiously follow the modish trends on television or flip through the pages of an accessible fashion magazine that has a history of wadding its pages with perfect images of models with flawless skin and perfect bodies.

Now what's truly worth looking into is what impact is it crafting inside young minds that they begin to believe that they are somehow lacking or imperfect. Is it rivalry or a craving to be distinctive?

Human nature stretches up till a point where thinking or trying to be someone else is not that big of a deal, but eventually you find that your ultimate destination has always been yourself with so much inside of you ready to divulge itself. It is our imperfections, be they physical, emotional, intellectual or spiritual that make us perfect. Even nature persuades us to believe that we need imperfection to create perfection.

Nevertheless, let's not allow ourselves to be illustrated by the shade of lipstick or perhaps the color of lenses we wear but by letting the aesthetics coming from our heart do its job and by finding solace in our shortcomings. I believe life would be much simpler and better lived perceptually, once we start appreciating our imperfections as the signature of our soul. As Nina Garcia, the fashion director for Elle magazine puts it, "Confidence is captivating, it is powerful, and it does not fade—and that is endlessly more interesting than beauty. The first and most important step to developing style is to project this kind of confidence. The kind of confidence that tells others that you respect yourself, love yourself, and dress up for yourself and nobody else. You are your own muse. Style comes from knowing who you are and who you want to be in the world; it does not come from wanting to be somebody else, or wanting to be thinner, shorter, taller, prettier. Many of the most stylish women in the world have not been great beauties, but they have all drawn from an enormous amount of self-confidence. They made us think they were beautiful simply by believing it themselves. They did not let anyone else define them; they defined themselves."

I also remember watching not too long ago, an interview of Robert Redford, a popular celebrity from Hollywood. The interview started off with a few rather skeptical queries that were mostly concerning his mounting age and the typical trend of cosmetic surgery in Hollywood. Remarkably, Redford had authentic answers to all the plastic questions that came from the interviewer's end. He said openly that he would not want to look like who he used to be, but he would rather want to look like who he really is. Therefore, it is high time that we stop obsessing over all those Hollywood catalogues we go through "age gracefully" has a reasonably accepted status all over. Working towards improvement, may it be physically or mentally is beneficial for you, until the time it changes into a bitter thought of changing something completely in order to appear perfect.

A fairly strong and a negative impact of perfectionism on our society has made people believe in spending a lot of money, a lot of time, and a lot of anxiety, trying to achieve a goal that moves further away with every accomplishment. Is it really that life is unfair, or are we simply chasing an image of ourselves that doesn't exist.

Let's fabricate the vision giving it a bigger and a restored picture, it all starts with embracing every inch of ourselves, even when we look in the mirror and realize the person staring back is not flawless. It is truly notable to go beyond the oppositional thinking of right and wrong, good or bad, and rather just accept who you really are along with a healthy self-pride.

To understand that there is nothing more special than simply being yourself; accepting yourself as a "human" prone to mistakes and imperfections rather than coming to blows with nature and try becoming so perfect that you appear machine-made.

What type of brush should you use to apply forever makeup cream foundation ..?

I am currently using bare minerals brush for applying the foundation should i be using something eles cuz i feel like when i use this particular brush my face looks cakey

i use REALLY clean fingers.. i find it melts the product to my skin and looks natural, while giving me more coverage... i seem to use less when i use my fingers.. just make sure you remove the oils with a really good wash so they dont mix with the foundation and do something funky.

also, because it's cream and really thick, you shouldn't be applying it ALL over your face, just on the places you need it.. if you want your whole face covered, use a liquid foundation.

I'm bored, so what do you do?

This is what I do:
• I curl my lashes.
• CoverGirl Classic Ivory Liquid Foundation.
• CoverGirl Classic Ivory TRUblend mineral foundation.
• Neutrogena Blushing Mocha Blush.
• Rimmel London Pure White Eyeliner (bottom inner eyelid).
• CoverGirl Black Onyx Eyeliner (bottom outer eyelid).
• CoverGirl Down to Earth Eyeshadow.
• Revlon Endless Spice Lipcolor.
• CoverGirl Very Black Mascara.

As much as it is, it really doesn't look like much when I put it on. It mostly evens color out and highlights my eyes.

What do you do? Any tips?

-light shimmery eye shadow all over lid
-black pencil eyeliner on top and bottom outer corners fading out
-white eyeliner in the waterline
-clear liquid eyeliner seal
-face powder around eyes so eye makeup doesn't smudge
-black mascara
-lip gloss (normally peachy, pink, or neutral colors)
-green tinted face powder, it reduces redness
-face powder in my skin tone

exactly what i do
but sometime i change it up a little

tips:
- make sure you don't use too much foundation
-put powder around your eyes to stop makeup from smudging
-use a clean eyebrow or eyelash brush to brush out eyelashes after mascara to get rid of clumps and separate them
-always wear sunscreen under your makeup especially since its summer
-change up your makeup from time to time

how do YOU apply bare minerals?

& also...

i bought the starter kit in medium and medium beige.

it has 2 foundations, mineral veil, warmth, and an all over face color.

what are some othe products from them that i should buy?

I actually applied it the way the little video told me to...but I noticed that my face looks dry after a while..even if I apply moisturizer. So I'm going to try MAC cosmetics next, I hear they have a really great liquid foundation. Can't wait!

I don't usually use warmth, I got the starter kit too..but I'm almost done with the kit..now to something better!

If the old axiom "you are what you eat" is right, then why not eat a vibrant assortment of foods? Our eye is naturally attracted to deep green of landscapes and the rich red of roses, then why do we eat a mottled gray colored diet? French fries, hamburger, and an artificially flavored drink. Oh they try to spice it up a little bit, throwing in a flimsy slice of tomato or a sorry excuse for lettuce, but overall a gray and brown meal—how exciting. We eat this stuff because it tastes good. However, its taste is artificially altered because chemicals are added which can cause addiction and cravings, also it tastes good because it is loaded with as much fat, salt, and sugar as they can manage. A test to discover if what you are eating is truly good can often be based on color.

Vivacious and natural reds, blues, greens, and yellows can indicate an abundance of nutrients within. Perhaps it comes from evolution. Maybe the ancients ate the foods that attracted their eye and in time human bodies developed a need for their nutrients. Maybe in 4,000 years our bodies will be able to survive off fat and sugar and artificial chemicals alone. But don't hold your breath.

For whatever reason, our bodies need an assortment of vitamins and minerals to perform all functions. Each nutrient has specific tasks within the body, and without them problems arise. Colorful fruit and vegetables are known for their density of nutrients.

Dark green vegetables are infused with antioxidants which destroy dangerous free radicals that enter our body through the air and environmental agents. They are also brimming with vitamins A, C, and K, folate, iron, calcium, and fiber. Some of the best dark green foods include spinach, broccoli, and romaine lettuce.

Red colored plants have an important nutrient named lycopene. Lycopene is one of the top ten anticancer carotenoids (or the pigments that create color in plants). Good red foods are things like raspberries, cherries, beets, strawberries, and tomatoes.

Blue or dark purple plant foods such as blueberries, blackberries, grapes, or plums also have anticancer qualities. They contain a pigment called anthocyanin as well as vitamin C, fiber, flavonoids, and antioxidants.

Orange and yellow foods are very unique in their properties. These types of foods actually reduce the effects of aging. They promote healthy eyes, joints, and work with calcium to create strong bones. So make sure to have a variety of apricots, carrots, peaches, pumpkin, and sweet potatoes to your diet.

Also look for white (mushrooms, onions), pink (grapefruit), black (black beans), and dark red (kidney beans) colors.

Filling your life with all these colorful, tasty fruits and vegetables will spice up your life in a healthy way. Even with all this smart eating, we sometimes miss out on needed nutrients, because let's face it, it's hard to fit in all these colors and the other food groups (also important, don't forget about them!) on a daily basis. So add a daily multivitamin to your day to make sure all your bases are covered. Eating healthy is the best way to get vitamins and minerals, but supplementing good eating with a multivitamin is the best way to go. Spice up your life and make your body happy by making smart, exciting choices about what you eat.

Maverick American artist, Jean Michel Basquiat (1960-1988) was an unorthodox painter. He began his career as a graffiti artist in the streets of New York to eventually emerge as a lead figure in the 'Neo-Expressionist' art scene. Animate and inanimate forms in rather violent representations, with a brutal force of emotions, characterize 'Neo-Expressionism.' In line with this, outrageous color schemes and grotesque expressions also were integral to Basquiat's works. In the year 1981, the artist came up with his first major work, "Untitled Head," which also became one of his choicest paintings.

"Untitled Skull" is a work of varied media and acrylic on canvas, set in 81" X 69.3" frame. It features a human head, which is nearer in depiction to a skull, kept in place with the help of numerous stitches. The head is shown broken at several places, the teeth, near the left eye, and towards the back of the skull. "Untitled Head" does not follow a uniform tone for skin or bones. Rather, it is adapted to a grim pattern in raw colors, as if to indicate rot and decay. These features give it an appearance of 'Folk' or 'Tribal Art.' The most remarkable aspect of "Untitled Skull," is the eyes, which are looking down towards the floor, while capturing the despair of the 'head' with great finesse. The very combination of sad eyes and broken teeth is capable of signifying a blend of gloom and fear, this piece intends to convey.

The background of "Untitled Head" is an abstraction in blue, orange, red, and white. This piece of 'Skeleton Art' is a classic example of Jean's frantic pace, spontaneity, and experimental style. Due to his involvement into graffiti at the start of his career, Jean Michel had developed a sense of urgent (to avoid being caught by the police) execution, which crept into his "Untitled Head" too. It is also a matter of debate as to whether so many of Basquiat's works suffer from identity crisis, being without any title. Looking closely at "Untitled Skull," an interesting fact emerges. Near the top of the canvas, some words are scribbled in bold saying, 'Head of' and the name that followed these words was later scored. This becomes even more intriguing in the light of the belief that most of these 'heads' were Jean Michel's self-portraits. It appears that on the account of their portrayal, he himself was not comfortable with the idea of identifying with them.

Despite its 'shock' appeal and disconcerted impression, "Untitled Head," like most other Basquiat's works, carried phenomenal commercial value, commanding a staggering price of $19,000 in the year 1984, just two years after its initial price was quoted at $4,000.

The Environmental Working Group is one of my favorite consumer advocacy groups. They hold no bars. No matter how big, powerful or even a respected natural company, EWG says it like it is.

In 2007 EWG reported that the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics (CSC) tested 33 brands of lipstick from various locations in the Northeast. Two television news programs, KCBS and Pittsburgh's WPXI, both tested several brands as well.

The results were shocking. They found over two-thirds had lead levels higher than the FDA's allowable level for lead in candy (.1 parts per million (ppm)! The brands that did contain lead included:

L'Oreal Colour Riche True Red - 0.65 ppm

Cover Girl Incredifull Lipcolor Maximum Red - 0.56 ppm

Dior Addict Positive Red - 0.21 ppm

Burt's Bee also contained lead, but the founder maintained that the levels should not be of concern.

So how much is too much lead in your lipstick for it to be of concern?

For me, any level!

Lipstick is easily absorbed through the lips and can be ingested as we lick our lips. As lead gets into the blood stream, it is stored in organs, tissues, bones and teeth. If it continues to accumulate in these areas in the body, even in small amounts, it can cause permanent damage to the central nervous system, especially the brain.

The problem stems back to the fact that the FDA does not regulate ingredients in personal care products or cosmetics.

The limits it has set for lead include the maximum allowable dosage levels of (MADL) of .1 ppm in candy, .5 ppm in food and 10 to 20 ppm in FD&C color additives, which according to EWG may be used in color lipsticks. The lead does not have to be listed on the label since it has been added to the color.

For years, we have been warned against lead in paint in old homes and toys purchased from China. Now we need to be careful of cosmetics purchased in stores or online, whether they are made in the U.S.A. or China.

My suggestion is to buy cosmetics without FD&C colors, especially red.

How to cover and get rid of acne?

i just started breaking out all over my forehead and on my cheeks. How can i get rid of them and how can i cover it using mineral foundation? Im not really good at sticking with a facial routine so something super easy would be appreciated. thanks oh and btw i have combination/oily skin.

Drink water

Drink plenty of water every day. Try drinking at least two liters of still mineral water. If the skin becomes dehydrated, dead skin cells are not effectively shed, which can lead to blocked pores and further acne.

Sunshine and fresh air

Sunshine stimulates the creation of vitamin D in our body - an essential vitamin for healthy skin. A little bit of fresh air and sunshine every day will also reduce your stress and increase oxygen to the skin. Even when it's overcast, the sun's rays reach us, so try to take a 10 minute walk outside every day.

Reduce your intake of sugar and refined carbohydrates

New research pointing the finger at diet - eating refined carbohydrates (white bread, pasta, rice, flour etc) and sugar leads to a surge in insulin and an insulin-like growth factor called IGF-1. This in turn leads to an excess of male hormones, which encourage the skin to excrete large amounts of sebum. This grease-like substance encourages the growth of bacteria responsible for acne.

Refined carbs/sugar = more insulin = more hormones = more sebum (oil) = more bacteria = more acne

The bed sheets

Keep the bed sheets clean. Wash your pillow case on a regular schedule to reduce the transfer of our natural body oils.

Wash your face

Wash your face only one time a day. Don't over wash , because that will cause only more production of oil on your skin. another option is to use very gentle cleansers for normal skin that don't dehydrate the skin and wash twice a day.

Anyhow, don't go out and buy those "acne free in one night" pills that are offered all over the place, they just don't work and you will waste hundreds of dollars for nothing.

Why not? Well, because it takes time to cure acne and you will need at least one week to see any noticeable results. There is absolutely no way to cure your acne in 24 hours.

If you really want to get rid of your acne there are two recommended methods that should combined together (if you can afford it) for best results.

Firstly and more important in my opinion, you must learn how you should fix the internal problem that's causing your acne, not just masking the symptoms or getting relief.
There are only few decent Ebooks and acne cure programs that can teach you exactly how to treat your acne from the inside.

Where medicine has failed them the authors have done their own research and found a way to overcome acne. In their books they share their great knowledge with other acne sufferers. Anyhow, be very careful because many of them are pure crap with little value.
