I have super duper sensitive eyes (I use alma eyeshadow which is hypo-allergenic, and also "non-irritating" but it stills irritated my eyes). Is bareminerals eyeshadow worth it? It's kinda expensive.

If you have always thought about coloring your hair but were worried about choosing the right color, there is no need to wait any longer. Lowlights are darker in color or tone than the base color, and give the hair depth and the appearance of fullness when applied to the underlying layers of hair. With a multi tonal or color style there is a natural look to the color, and the awful root growth problem of many single hair colors is minimized.
Warm hair colors will be those with a yellow, golden, or amber cast and cool hair colors are ash blonds, ash browns, and black. You will look best in hair colors with the same tone as your skin. For example, warm skin tone will look best with warm hair colors. If you have pink skin that burns easily, and blue or green eyes, you'll look great with blonde hair, but avoid strawberry shades. If you have sallow skin with yellow undertones? Stay away from deep golds.
Hair color looks best when it is either slightly darker or lighter than the natural color. This may not sound very adventurous, but a small change of intensity can actually be quite satisfying and eye-popping. The slight variation is also the easiest to revert to should you desire the old color back. However, a bigger change might be desired. For this, it is necessary to compare skin tones, eye color and general coloring to come up with a complementary shade.

If you are a red head and fair skinned, keep your make up as natural looking as possible and use makeup that would highlight your features and give you a healthy glow. Having red hair naturally presents a look of warm skin, but it sometimes makes you look too pink. Use makeup that has more earthy tones or are gold based.

Neutral Foundations

u should use a white powder under ur eyes when applying a dark shadow which u should wipe off after u do ur eye make up.. this is done in order to prevent the dark shadow from falling onto ur undereyes and makin them look racoon-ish

Since you can wear almost any color, you always have the option of matching your eye shadow to your clothing. Otherwise you can go with neutrals like taupes and browns. Pink eye shadow with a darker color in the crease will really make your eyes sparkle. Grey eyeshadows and liners look great and can give you a smokey eye look that is toned down enough for daytime wear.

Metallics in the gold, bronze, brown and pink family look great on brown eyes. My favorite eyeshadow look is to go with a neutral shimmery beige color on the lid and use a darker accent color - it can be darker brown, purple, dark blue or even green. If you are feeling adventurous, you can always match you purple eyeshadow with a dark purple eyeliner. (If it is too light or too purple it will not be flattering - it should look black from a distance.)

Just a reminder, if you are going for eye drama and playing up your gorgeous eyes, be sure and go with a neutral blush and lip color. Otherwise you will look way too made up!

Where is this L'oreal Eye Shadow?

Driving to Vegas I stopped by a Wal-Mart in Barstow. They had L'oreal Wear Infinite Eye Shadow Quads each endorsed by a celebrity and each for a different eye color. I purchased "Kerry's Bronzes." Since then I can't find these anywhere. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Where can I find this?

Do you want to look like a red-carpet Glamazon? Do you want your makeup to be fabulous and have the staying power to last you through an entire evening? Then, follow these steps for makeup application, paying close attention to the techniques described, to achieve a glamorous evening look. This is a full-proof regimen for being strikingly fabulous at your next evening soiree!

Mattify, Mattify, Mattify! As with anything that is meant to last, a sturdy foundation is necessary. On a clean face, begin with a sufficient amount (about the size of a quarter) and even coating of a mattifyier or makeup primer. Simply apply either of these products as you would a moisturizer and allow to completely dry (about 3 minutes) before going any further. A primer I like is Vincent Longo's Water Canvas Base Primer, it keeps your makeup from feathering or creasing because of its water-gel base. For a mattifyier, Peter Thomas Roth's Anti-Mattifying Gel provides great results and helps makeup wear smoothly for hours.

*Tip: If you are using a mattifyier or primer, forgo a facial moisturizer to lessen your chances of uneven coverage of makeup later on.

Use a Foundation with Buildable Coverage. For effective evening wear, use a foundation with buildable coverage. This technique is useful when a concealer is not used in the application process and some areas of the face need to be covered a tad more than others. For fuller coverage, use a clean makeup powder puff or wedge sponge and work foundation into the face in outward strokes. For lighter coverage, use a loose powder brush in the same manner. For the best results, use both coverage techniques and dab off the excess. My pick for such a foundation is NARS Loose Powder; it works well with this makeup application process.

The Infamous "Smokey Eye". Truly, the most identifiable trait of an evening look is the smokey eye. If you want to achieve this look quickly, but with gorgeous results, use a soft kohl pencil. Due to its soft and malleable nature, it is easy to build up the intensity to the desired effect. With the pencil, line the lashes, both upper and lower, and inside the eye with black kohl, next you need to gently smudge with fingers to blend. If you are new to makeup application, use a smaller amount at first and build coverage until you are satisfied. Remember, it is easier to put on more eye pencil than to take off excess.

Now, continuing in the pursuit of the perfect smokey eye, it is time to address the eyelids. For this, forgo the eye shadow and forge ahead once again with soft kohl pencils in various colors. For women with dark eyes, use a dark green kohl pencil toward the base of the lids and a navy kohl pencil toward the brow line and delicately blend with a sponge applicator. If you have light eyes, use a smokey purple shade on the base of the lids and a navy kohl pencil toward the brow line, blending once again, for the same effect. A product that works well with these techniques is CHANEL Le Crayon Yeux Precision Eye Definer. It comes in seven different shades that go well with various complexions and eye colors.

Finish with a Matte Lip. Last but not least, is a matte lip in a shade close to your natural lip color. If you want maximum staying power, apply one coat of lipstick, blot with an oil-blotting sheet, then apply a second coat of lipstick. This will give you great pigment with the least amount of oil and wax on your lips. I adore CHANEL Rouge Allure Luminous Satin Lip Colour for a glamorous, long-lasting lip.

So you are now ready to be glamorous for your evening out. Follow these steps and techniques, and with a little practice, you will have a look that is red-carpet ready and lasts for hours without fading, feathering, or creasing. Finding the perfect foundation is a challenge every woman has faced in her lifetime. For some it is an ongoing quest that seems almost futile at times. Others seem completely oblivious to the fact that their foundation is making them look like they are wearing a Halloween mask.

There are several challenges to finding the perfect foundation:

• Color: the wrong color sticks out like a sore thumb and distracts from everything else you do with your make-up and wardrobe choices.

• Coverage: young flawless skins can opt for sheer coverage while those with more imperfections need a medium to full coverage.

• Formulation: you might choose from powder, liquid or cream foundations depending on which is more comfortable for you to use.

Now I will give some guidance for each of these areas beginning with the one where the most mistakes are made:

Color:

This is an area that many COSMETIC COMPANIES as well as ladies get totally wrong. I recently read an eBook that claimed to reveal "make-up secrets". The book was nothing more than a marketing ploy for a lesser known cosmetic company and it claimed that "most women have a yellow undertone to their skin so all of our foundations have a yellow undertone". That is really a silly comment. There are actually 4 undertones a person's skin can have: Yellow-orange (most common to be sure, but certainly not even close to everyone), Red-orange, Red (least common--less than 4% of people have this undertone) and Blue-red. The Yellow-orange (think golden) and Red-orange (think peachy) are what are known as warm undertones and the Red and Blue-red are the cool undertones. Some companies classify their undertones as Warm, Cool or Neutral (a lot of Red-oranges will find themselves here). The best way to determine your undertone is with a stripe test where a stripe of foundation from one of each undertone in an appropriate shade is placed on the jaw line. The correct undertone will fade away and the wrong ones will stand out.

Some companies will tell you that your undertone has something to do with your hair and eye color, but this is completely off base. I am a prime example of this. I have auburn hair and tawny-hazel eyes which would by this type of standard classify me as having a warm undertone, BUT my skin has a blue-red (cool) undertone. If I wear foundation with a warm undertone it is difficult to blend and may leave a line around my jaw. However, I do look really good in warm colors for my eyeshadows, lipsticks and blush. It is important to understand the difference between a skin's undertone and complimentary make-up colors and I hope this example sheds some light.

Coverage:

This may be listed right on the label, but if not you should ask your beauty consultant. Some foundations even have "adjustable coverage" which means you can layer it to get more coverage (without getting "cakey"). Healthy skin without a lot of flaws should go with a light coverage to let the natural beauty shine through. More coverage in the RIGHT COLOR will not give a mask appearance, but rather, will still look very natural.

Formulation:

This is mainly a matter of personal preference, but some formulations lend to different types of coverage, so be aware of that. Mineral powder foundations are all the rage right now, but they aren't for everyone (I still love my liquid, but sometimes I dust a little mineral powder foundation over the top for an extra glow).

makeup look?

this is my every day makeup look...what do you think of it? oh, and by the way, i know a lot of people think you're supposed to put concealer on after you do foundation, but i don't, ok? lol

How is anyone supposed to reasonably answer this question? That makeup could look okay on someone with certain skin tones and hair color and eye color, and terrible on someone else. It would wash out a person who is blonde and blue-eyed with a pale yellowy skin tone, for instance.

Store owners can find plastic containers and acrylic bins in numerous shapes, sizes, and styles, and this wide range of options is what has made these kinds of display fixtures so popular among nearly every kind of establishment - from candy stores, gas stations, and toy stores to amusement parks, carnivals, and other festivals!

It's also this kind of versatility that helps these containers and bins work well as product sample display fixtures.

It's important to remember that nearly any kind of plastic container can be used as a product sample container - the trick is to determine which kind of product sample display would work best for your store, restaurant, or other business.

Idea #1: Display New Recipe Samples

Whether you manage a restaurant, bakery, ice cream parlor, yogurt shop, or candy store, if you try new recipes, chances are you also want to give your customers a chance to try them, too.

If you manage a tavern or a restaurant with a bar or drink menu, there might be times when you want to promote a new drink mix or offer some kind of drink promotion. Plastic containers are great fixtures for holding miniature liquor bottles as well as acting as containers for the drinks themselves!

Idea #4: Display Perfume Samples

The ways in which perfume samples are packaged and offered to customers vary from store to store, but generally perfume samples come in small tubes or on pre-sprayed cards, and small plastic containers and acrylic bins are great for holding these samples. You can also use the containers to hold the cards and the tester perfume bottle for customers to spray the cards themselves.

Idea #5: Display Cosmetics Samples

Like perfume samples, the packaging and presentation of cosmetics samples vary from store to store. You might have cards with samples of lip color, eye color, and cheek color covered in plastic, or you might have small containers of these products. Of course, your cosmetics counter might actually have "tester" products that are designed for customers to try but not to take with them.

Eyeshadow is not only used to add color to the eyes, but also as a way of enhancing the shape of the eye and accentuating them. Eyeshadow comes in many different forms and shades, and it can often be confusing as to which products might work best.
