Bareminerals (very expensive) eyeshadow???

I have super duper sensitive eyes (I use alma eyeshadow which is hypo-allergenic, and also "non-irritating" but it stills irritated my eyes). Is bareminerals eyeshadow worth it? It's kinda expensive.

Any other mineral/waterbased eyeshadows you recommend?
What do you all think about physicians formula?

And how messy is bareminerals shadow? Does it come on dark?

i love bare minerals eyeshadows, you can layer, or blend them, ot wear with glimmers. i bought shadows 6 years ago, that are still not empty, not bad for 13.00. bare minerals is the perfect make-up, i is worth it, and it lasts a very long time, so it comes actually cheaper in the long run.

CALLING ALL LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!! (: ♥☻?

WELL i need to know, what make-up do you ladies use?
I have been using a lot lately just because I am starting to get little pimples...what is the makeup you ladies use? this is my routine and what I use,
1. Aveda's Linen (powder) foundation
2. American Beauty Perfecting concealer (sometimes I use this)
3.tru blend liquid foundation from covergirl
4. Pure Minerals blush

Now eyes;
1. Estee lauder mascara

ok so that is all I use on my eyes but I love them the way they are so I don't need any help there!!

Have any of you used any of that makeup that I am using, does it work for you? How do you put on makeup? What do you all use?

How to apply mineral eyeshadow? How to make it last longer?

I usually first apply Urban Decay Primer Potion. Then I would apply a medium layer of mineral eyeshadow (Everyday Minerals). But It will usually last about 3-4 hours only. Am I applying it incorrectly? Are their any other tips to keep my eyeshadow last all day?

I always use any kind of correction stick and cover my eyelid up to under my brow line. This is the kind of stick (in a tube like lipstick) normally used to cover discoloration under the eyes. There are several cosmetic companies that carry these (Maybelline, Almay, Rimmel) and come in various shades. I use a light beige hue.

In using this stick over the years, I have discovered that if I apply a coat of this first on my eye area, the shadow I put on over it stays perfect the whole day - minimal fading and/or gathering in the crease.

Bare Escentuals Rocker Eye Kit?

I was on the Bare Escentuals site and noticed the new rocker eye tutorial kit...I was wondering if anyone has used it and if so how is it? worth it??

Bare Minerals: Are their Eye shadows, Lipsticks, and Blush good, too?

I am so tired of wasting a lot of money on makeup that makes me look overly done.

What do you all think of the Bare Minerals eye shadows, lipsticks, and blush? Are they as good as the powder for your face? I want to look "natural" and not so overly made up, like I always do when leaving makeup counters.

What do you suggest? I'm looking for makeup for work.

I would recommend bare minerals. I started using it about a month ago and I love it!!! The whole range!

The eye shadows are so cool but more for going out, however they do have some subtle ones but the lipstic and blush are great for all times.

You just need to make sure you pick the right colour for you skin tone so it doesnt look too make up... I would suggest a blush not to far from your skin colour so it looks more like a natural blush and also a lip colour that doesnt stand out, just give u abit of a shine.

Our eyes are vulnerable to some diseases as we age. When we are over forty, we may suffer from presbyopia; when we are over fifty, we may suffer from Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD), which can always lead to irreversible blindness. That's to say; once the macular is damaged or thinned, our vision will be influenced. The reason is our retinas are protected by the macular pigment from coming light. The thinner our macular pigment is, the worse our eyes are.

In fact, some substances play very important role in the protection of our eyes. For example, Lutein is a very effective antioxidant substance than are very useful in the protection of macula.

The scientists have not found such a method currently that can be employed in the cure of Macula Degeneration. But prevention is much important than treatment. Some very common methods can be used for the prevention of such diseases. Following are they.

We should first know what AMD is and what the cause of it is. Some bad habits can reduce the density of macula pigment. Such as, smoking and drinking alcohol can be very irritating for the macula; working under too bright light, as the sun and computer, can also reduce the density of the pigment. As mentioned above that lutein is very effective antioxidant substance which can help slow the process of macula degeneration. In this sense, it is very essential for us to intake foods that are abundant with lutein.

In fact, other materials can also help to slow the process of AMD. Thus, we should intake more other vitamins and mineral, while ingesting lutein.

Some eye doctors recommend that there are four substances that are vital for the health of our eyes.

The first one is, no doubt, lutein that is a kind of very effective antioxidant substance. It is very nice for us to use some lutein pills that are extracted from marigold plant. It is true that these pills are expensive, but effective.

The matter of fragility in the blood vessels can also be prevented by taking Bilberry in which flavanoids and anthocyanin are contained. Our eye muscles can be benefited a lot from this substance. Taking such pills everyday is essential.

The problem of bad elasticity in the blood vessels can also be avoided by intaking some grape seeds extract. If our blood vessels lose their elasticity, we will suffer a lot. These pills can help prompt the circulation of our blood. Take some everyday.

The commonest Vitamin C is still very important, for it is essential for the synthesis of some tissues. Like lutein, it is also an antioxidant substance. Take some Vitamins C pills everyday.

can normal bare mineral eyeshadows be used as liners?

i want to know if a normal bare minerals shadow can be used a liner or if only the liner shadows can

nope, all shadows can be used as liners. even pressed shadows. you can use a mix n medium or just water (i use mac fix +) and then if you don't want to ruin your pressed shadow just swipe your brush and then wet it. with loose shadows you can use it wet first

Makeup tips for blue eyes are pretty straightforward. The trick is to learn which colors look better on blue eyes, and start with those, and then branch out with the colors that you are personally drawn to. Women have a unique ability to choose colors that are complimentary to them. Just because colors are suggested doesn't mean those are the only colors suitable for you to wear.

Colors For Blue Eyes

There are some colors that seem to be made for blue eyes. Icy pinks, silver, gold and violet all come to mind. You can expand your selection by also choosing taupe, gray, and other purples, like lavender.

If you want to add a little "oomph" to your makeup, try a bright blue instead. I know, I know. You've always heard bad things about blue eyeshadow. However, these makeup tips for blue eyes include bright blue eyeshadow because it will make your eyes really stand out. Try it and see what you think.

Also try turquoise, and if your eyes have green in them, mint green is a great choice. Bright pinks and fuschia are great choices as well. And if you really want to mix it up, try mixing black with another color. It will look striking and it usually best for nightwear.

Application Tips

Now, I wouldn't give you makeup tips for blue eyes without giving you tips to apply them. If you're already comfortable with your application you don't need to read on. But if you think you might like some guidelines to help you, keep reading.

Here's an example of a day look that you could do:

1.Take a silver shadow and apply it from your eyelashes to your eyebrow.

2.Then apply lavender from your eyelashes to just above the crease. Blend it well into the silver so you can't see a distinct line.

3.Then take violet and apply it in a "v" from the middle of your eyelid to the outer corner. Blend very, very well. You want it to look like a gradual change of color, not distinct lines.

4.Line your eyes with charcoal or dark gray eyeliner.

5.Apply mascara.

You can adjust the colors to be icy pink with fuschia, light and dark turquoise, gold and taupe, gray and bright blue, light blue and bright blue, silver and bright blue, taupe and green, etc. The list goes on and on.

Just play around until you like what you're seeing. You make all the choices and decisions when it comes to your makeup.

Eyeshadow is not only used to add color to the eyes, but also as a way of enhancing the shape of the eye and accentuating them. Eyeshadow comes in many different forms and shades, and it can often be confusing as to which products might work best.

When using eyeshadow, a good technique to remember is to use three different shades. By using the lightest shade under the brow bone, you will create highlights. Then apply the medium shade to the eyelid area, and accentuate the eyelid crease with the darkest shade. This can add a lot of depth to the eyes that will really bring out their beauty.

When applying eyeshadow, it can help to use a little loose face powder applied to the eyelid area with a powder puff or brush before applying the eye color. This is because the powder will create a good base for the eyeshadow, absorbing any excess oil and creating a smooth surface that will help you blend the eyeshadow colors easily.

When selecting eyeshadow shades, most people prefer to have a good collection of neutral colors such as brown, charcoal, smoky gray and beige, in addition to some specialty colors such as green, blue and mauve, and lighter shades for highlighting. These basic shades can be combined in many different ways and can be used to create simple daytime looks as well as dramatic evening makeup looks.

When selecting the form of eyeshadow, cream eyeshadow in matte shades is often considered to be among the easiest of all eyeshadow products to apply. Additionally, powder eyeshadow is often preferred, and can be easy to apply with an eyeshadow brush or applicator. There are also other types of eyeshadow products available as well, including mineral eyeshadow and those which come in crayon or sponge-tip wand form.

Selecting colors that go well with your overall complexion is also recommended. Too many times women with very light skin will choose dark eye colors, and women with dark skin choose light frosted shades. In both cases, this will produce an unnatural type of appearance. A more beautiful effect can be achieved by choosing colors that have an intensity that is in line with the lightness or darkness of the skin.

Neutral eyeshadow shades are also considered to be more natural-looking than frosted colors. Although some women do look good in light frosted shades, most times a medium shade in a neutral color will be more complementary.

How to make mineral eye shadow last longer?

My eye lids are a little bit on the oily side. I recently started using mineral eye shadow, but I'm not sure if I am using it correctly.

I am applying concealer on my lids (my lids/under eyes are little dark) and then I apply my eye shadow w/ a brush.

My eye shadow only lasts about 2-3 hours.

Am i applying it correctly? How can I make it last longer?

Urban Decay Primer Potion, or Too Faced Shadow Insurance.. both are available from stores like sephora and ulta, or online. They are MIRACLE workers.. your eyeshadow will look as good at the end of the day as it did when you first put it on. They are both in the range of $17, but one tube of either will last you 6 months or longer.

What gives MAC Pigments the wet look?

I have been making my own mineral eye shadows for several months and I love mac pigments, too.... I was just wondering what gave them the wet look... That is about the best way to describe it and it seems like most all of them have this effect.
Anyone know?

they have glycerin in them, its a hemectient that catches the moisture in the air and seals it in the skin.

the best colour palette for blue eyes is pretty much brown, white, black, and blue.
apply black eye pencil in the water line and along the lash line on the upper lid. use white eyeshadow (just a little) under your eyebrows... it really highlights them. then if you want to, put on a little shimmery brown eyeshadow on the whole eyelid. some black eyeshadow on the outer corners of the eyelid is optional.
for the bigger eye look... rather than putting the black eye pencil in the water line, use a white eye pencil there and use black eye pencil along the lower lash.
dont forget mascara on the upper and lower lashes. and try a lash curler too!
